Whistler Street
The clients brief sought to address a cramped and dark kitchen that had poor connections to the living space within a terraced Victorian house within an Islington Conservation Area. HoDA responded to the brief by creating an open plan dining and kitchen space with a breakfast bar as a kitchen focal point.
A large format fixed rooflight brings light deep into the plan and a crittal-style pair of French doors improve access to the garden, complement the Victorian character of the house and bring additional light to the living spaces. Texture is introduced by the exposure of the masonry party wall.
The kitchen was a bespoke design by HoDA and features hidden wine storage. A traditional, shaker style aesthetic is sympathetic to the character of the house.
